SWISH PRODUCTIONS
The film and television world is complicated. I don't think it has to be. The goal is to be able to create a story that is shared on film to as many people as possible for the greatest possible gains. Right?
What does it take?
1) a great story
2) good people to make the story come to life
3) money to pay those people
4) a way to distribute the story to a big audience and make a profit.
Right?
So. Let's do that. How?
Well. Let's work together. Let's read other's stories. Let's vote on the stories we like the best. Then let's contribute to the finance fund based on the budget and our personal interest in seeing it made.
Anyone who is interested in working on the project can apply to make it. Then we make it. The best part is that anyone who contributes to the front end of the development will own a piece of the back end. It's like a stock kind of. Investing in something you believe in that you think will make money. Why not film making? Why not do it ourselves?
When we build something together and we contribute to it, whether its the story itself or our sweat equity for working on the project or our dollars that help get the project made, we become owners of the project. And, as owners, we divide the profits.
I imagine we can try this together for a feature film. We could start with a low budget romantic comedy. Who doesn't love a good romantic comedy? It might not be possible. But if we are fair and honest and want to see it happen, we can do it.
If you want to be a part of SWISH Productions, upload your resume and leave a comment on what you'd like to achieve. I'm hopeful that we can bypass the big guys and make a name for ourselves. I mean, look at Netflix. Streaming is where we watching movies and documentaries and television shows. So why do we have to make movies in the same way that the "blockbusters" demand? We can ride our own wave, make our movies. Who's got a story? Who's got the gear? Who can direct? Produce? Who writes the music? Does it matter if you have experience? Not really, but it helps. Let's see what we can all bring to the table.
